Critical Thinking and Creative Communication explores the educational challenges and opportunities of communication in the digital age, drawing on the experience of the Urbino POT project developed within the national network Universities, Schools and Territories in Network for Cultural Heritage. The volume documents a series of innovative orientation activities designed to help secondary school students develop the skills needed to understand, analyse and engage with todays complex information environments.
Through seminars, workshops and interactive learning experiences delivered in upper secondary schools, the project addressed topics that are increasingly central to contemporary education, including critical thinking, artificial intelligence, digital well-being, online expertise and the role of images in communication. These activities encouraged students to move beyond passive consumption of information and become more reflective, responsible and aware participants in digital and social life.
The book presents orientation not simply as support for educational and career choices, but as a broader process that fosters interpretive competence, epistemic responsibility and civic engagement. By combining theoretical reflection with practical educational experiences, it offers insights into how schools and universities can work together to support young people in developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to navigate contemporary communication landscapes.
